Guidance through the Great Books Experience
Do you want your Jr. high and Sr. high school children to experience the Great Books, but you do not know where to begin? The standard book lists are daunting to many, and quality supporting materials are scattered about libraries and the internet like the rays of light through a prism. Take heart, courageous parents! We believe that you do not need to have expertise in the Great Books in order to give your students a Great Books education. You have arrived at a lamp to guide you down this path. Our work focuses on creating book guides for as many of the Great Books as we can, gathering what we believe to the best, least expensive, most easily-accessible resources together into one place.
We believe that a Great Books education should be as close to free as possible, and should center around individual study and small group discussion. All you need, then, to provide your student the best possible experience, is a bit of gumption, a computer with internet access, copies of the Great Books you have assigned to your child, and a small group of other like-minded students and parents.
Take a deep breath, and jump in! You can do this!
