Read The Moonstone through the end of the book.

1. Trace the story of the Moonstone as it made it’s way back to India? 
2. From what you understand of Rationalism vs. empiricism, explain the influence of empiricism on sleuthing as it is depicted in The Moonstone. 
3. The Moonstone’s religious and metaphysical themes are prominent throughout. Describe the metaphysical/non-physical/religious aspect that was most interesting to you and explain why you chose as you did.
4. There are several times the subjective and objective are discussed in The Moonstone. Which two characters engage in these discussions? What is meant by the subjective an objective? Which world view (realism or empiricism) supports such conversations? 
5. From your encounters with subsequent detective stories, what elements of The Moonstone do you find in those stories?
